Baroness Barran MBE was re-appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Education in 2022 and is Minister for the School System and Student Finance. Her responsibilities include education investment areas, departmental data strategy, safeguarding and departmental efficiency. Prior to her current role, she was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for the School and College System) and Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for the School System) at the Department for Education, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Civil Society) at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport from 2019 to 2021.
