Deepak Vasant Kesarkar was appointed Cabinet Minister for Ministry of Education and Ministry of Marathi Language and represents Sawantwadi Assembly Constituency in 2022. He belongs to Shivsena and was appointed as Maharashtra's Minister of state for Finance, Rural Development in 2014. He is also currently the Guardian Minister of Mumbai City District & Kolhapur District. He was first elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2009, re-elected in 2014 and was appointed Minister of State for Finance, Rural Development in the Maharashtra State Government. He has been Guardian minister of Sindhudurg district and in 2016 was appointed Minister of State for Home (Rural), Finance and Planning in Maharashtra State in 2016 then elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly in 2019.
