Dr Amel Karboul
CEO, Education Outcomes Fund
HE Dr Amel Karboul is CEO of the Education Outcomes Fund, a hosted trust fund at UNICEF aiming to improve the education and employment outcomes of 10 million children and youth. It aims to support governments to utilise a range of innovative finance instruments at scale, including outcomes funds and other results-based financing instruments. She was Tunisia’s first female Minister of Tourism and co-led the country’s transition after the Arab Spring, leading to Tunisia’s Nobel Peace prize in 2015. She was awarded the Commandeur de l’Ordre de la République Tunisienne. She received a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany and holds a certificate in Executive Master of Public Administration from LSE in the United Kingdom. She has held leadership roles at numerous organisations including The Education Commission, Mercedes-Benz, DaimlerChrysler, and worked in senior consultant roles at the Boston Consulting Group and Beratergruppe Neuwaldegg.
