HE Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic

HE Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, MD, PhD, has a master's and doctoral studies and specialisation in neuropsychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine in Belgrade. In seven mandates, she was a deputy in the National Assembly, the Federal Parliament of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. In the Transitional Government she was the Minister for Family Care and a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. She served as Chair of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, acting president of Serbia, and Minister of Health. She spent most of her career as a full professor, head of the Department of Psychiatry and vice-rector for international cooperation at the University of Kragujevac. In 2019, as a President of the Inter-Ministerial Working Group on the Implementation of the UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, she headed the Serbian delegation for the first Voluntary National Review on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. From 2020 to 2023 she was appointed to the position of Special Advisor in charge of implementing the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development. She is a member of the Association of Psychiatrists of Serbia, and served as the President of this association for two terms.
