Manos Antoninis

Manos Antoninis has been the Director of the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report since 2017, leading the team on the themes of accountability, migration and displacement, inclusion, non-state actors, technology and leadership. He has coordinated the financing gap estimates for the 2030 education targets, the World Inequality Database on Education, and new methodologies on out-of-school and completion rates. He was previously responsible for the monitoring section of the report and is the co-chair of the Technical Cooperation Group on SDG 4 indicators, through which he contributed to the national SDG 4 benchmarking process. Under the report’s mandate to monitor progress on education in the SDGs, he is leading the team on a new series on the interrelationship between education and other development outcomes, including climate. As part of this work, the team is currently working with partners on curriculum-based monitoring tools to guide policy dialogue on greening education.
