HE Moncef Boukthir

HE Moncef Boukthir is the current Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Republic of Tunisia. Until his appointment as Minister, he chaired the COSYS-Med International Joint Laboratory and engaged in multiple collaborations with international partners such as the Institut Méditerranéen d'Océanographie in Marseille and Stockholm University in Sweden. He also served as the elected Director of the "Institut Préparatoire aux Etudes d'Ingénieur" in Tunis for two consecutive terms. He authored and contributed in more than 70 scientific publications and chaired the national commission tasked with reforming physics curricula in preparatory engineering training cycles from. He is a full university professor and has made significant contributions to the fields of physical oceanography and physics. He holds a PhD from the University of Paris VI in Physical Oceanography, a Diploma d'Habilitation Universitaire in physics from the Tunis Faculty of Sciences.
