Yvette Hutchinson
Senior Consultant, Quality Assurance and Teacher Training, British Council, England
Yvette Hutchinson is the Research Lead for the British Council’s Schools Connect Global Programme and Quality Assurance and Teacher Training Adviser for the British Council, contributing to the British Council’s school research portfolio. She spent the first years of her career teaching English. After graduate studies in the US, she returned to the UK to lead a Supplementary School and then lecture in Education Studies and Teacher Training. She has worked for Local Authorities as a School Improvement Adviser and led the programme for Early Career Teachers in Oxfordshire. She is the Deputy Chair of the UK Forum for International Education and Training (UKFIET) and a member of the Economic and Social Research Council’s Education Advisory Group. She contributes to resources development at the Institute of Climate and Social Action at the University of Winchester. She is a Magistrate and Presiding Justice for Thames Valley. In 2016 she received a Queens’ Award for her voluntary work as a Trustee of the Oxford Community Soup Kitchen.
